Associate Field Manager - External Relations

Location: Uganda; field-based district and community engagement

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day engagement with district political and technical-administrative leaders, subcounty and parish officials, community leaders, recipients, and coordination structures.
• Explain program objectives, eligibility, targeting, activities, timelines, and feedback channels; support inclusive community barazas.
• Maintain stakeholder registers, engagement plans, relationship tracking, meeting records, commitments, and follow-up actions.
• Coordinate local actions and reporting with Field Management, field teams, district offices, and NGO monitoring structures.
• Monitor community acceptance, tensions, compliance, safeguarding, security, legal, and reputational risks; recommend mitigations and escalate sensitive issues.
• Provide monthly updates, communicate approved responses, support recipient-story collection with informed consent, and maintain compliant external-relations records.

Requirements

• University degree in a relevant field.
• Experience implementing engagement plans and coordinating work across teams.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with government, community, or civil-society stakeholders; development or NGO-sector experience is advantageous.
• Public-sector or community-stakeholder experience in a field setting is advantageous.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, with clear oral communication and strong written communication for concise updates, meeting records, and correspondence.
• Strong organization and follow-through, including accurate record-keeping and management of competing field priorities.
• Sound judgment, discretion, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to escalate concerns appropriately.
• Ability to assess local information, identify emerging issues, and contribute practical recommendations.
• Resourceful and self-directed while collaborating with Field Management and External Relations; alignment with hirify.global’s values and commitment to safeguarding recipients.

Nice to have

• Ability to speak local Ugandan languages.
