Cloud Security Engineer (AWS/Azure)

Location: Remote within the United States; flexible working hours aligned with U.S. time zones, with occasional evening, overnight, or weekend coverage.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and improve security controls across AWS and Azure, with additional support for GCP.
• Deploy, configure, optimize, and maintain CrowdStrike, Splunk, Rapid7, and Red Canary for endpoint protection, threat detection, vulnerability management, and monitoring.
• Investigate security alerts and cloud infrastructure threats, support incident response, and develop remediation strategies.
• Secure Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS Bottlerocket environments through hardening, vulnerability assessment, runtime protection, and secure deployment practices.
• Identify, prioritize, and remediate cloud vulnerabilities while automating repetitive security operations through scripts and workflows.
• Collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, and security operations teams on assessments and cloud security improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, cybersecurity engineering, or infrastructure security, including securing AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure security services, IAM, network security, logging, encryption, and cloud security configuration best practices.
• Practical experience deploying, administering, integrating, or troubleshooting one or more enterprise security platforms, preferably CrowdStrike, Splunk, Rapid7, or Red Canary.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container security, including vulnerability scanning, workload protection, and secure container configuration.
• Experience identifying and investigating threats, analyzing vulnerabilities, implementing remediation, and supporting incident response in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable scripting and infrastructure-as-code technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience securing GCP alongside AWS and Azure, including cloud-native security services and cross-cloud integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes clusters, Docker workloads, AWS Bottlerocket, container runtime security, and CI/CD security integrations.
• Experience with identity security, AI/ML security, SaaS application security, Zero Trust architecture, or CNAPP platforms.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CKS, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent credentials.
