Site Reliability Engineer IV (Azure)

Location: Hybrid position working 1–2 times per week in the Glasgow, Scotland office, United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Design, maintain, and optimize highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and secure Azure cloud infrastructure for SaaS platforms.
• Lead incident response, post-mortems, preventive measures, and on-call support for critical systems.
• Define and implement SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs while improving monitoring, alerting, logging, performance, cost efficiency, and operational processes.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and operational automation with Terraform and configuration management tools.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and DevOps teams to embed reliability, compliance, vulnerability management, and secure design practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level SREs and use AI tools for incident triage, root-cause analysis, runbooks, post-mortems, Infrastructure as Code, and automation, validating outputs before production use.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Proven experience designing and supporting large-scale SaaS platforms in Microsoft Azure; AWS or GCP experience is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform and scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent.
• Solid Linux and Windows system administration experience.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Hands-on experience applying AI tools such as Claude or similar to troubleshooting, scripting, automation, and observability workflows, with sound judgment when reviewing AI output and protecting sensitive data.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field; equivalent experience is considered.
