Cyber Security Defense - Vulnerability Junior Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Naples, Italy; hybrid working model with 2 days per week remotely.

Gross annual salary: €28,000–€32,000 gross per year, paid over 14 monthly installments.

What you will do

• Execute scheduled vulnerability scanning campaigns across ashore and onboard environments under supervision.
• Perform authenticated and non-authenticated assessments of servers, workstations, network devices, cloud resources, and enterprise applications.
• Analyse scan results, validate findings, support remediation, and escalate complex or unresolved vulnerabilities.
• Maintain vulnerability assessment platforms, scanners, sensors, connectors, and supporting infrastructure.
• Monitor scan performance, coverage, and asset visibility; document gaps and configure scans according to defined procedures.
• Prepare technical findings, reports, dashboards, compliance evidence, and operational documentation for cybersecurity and technology teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• 0–2 years of experience in Vulnerability Assessment, Cyber Security Operations, Security Engineering, or related cybersecurity activities; relevant internships, academic, or laboratory experience may be considered.
• Basic knowledge of vulnerability assessment methodologies, exposure identification, common vulnerabilities, CVEs, CVSS scoring, and security best practices.
• Understanding of Windows, Linux, virtualization platforms, networking technologies, cloud environments, endpoint security, operating system security, network protocols, authentication mechanisms, and enterprise infrastructures.
• Ability to interpret technical findings, document observations, communicate clearly with IT teams, troubleshoot, follow guidance, and escalate when required.
• Fluent Italian and fluent English, written and spoken, are mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, communication skills, and commitment to operational excellence.
• Right to work in Italy is required.

Nice to have

• Previous internship, academic project, or initial experience in a consulting company.
• Hands-on, internship, or laboratory experience with vulnerability scanning and assessment tools.
• Tenable Vulnerability Management Specialist, Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, or Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) certification.
