Client Engineer (C++)

Location: Ha Noi, Vietnam; hybrid schedule with remote work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and office work on the remaining weekdays.

What you will do

• Build and maintain client-side game and feature code, primarily in Lua, with C++ and native iOS/Android layers as needed.
• Develop data-driven, server-configurable features, including feature flags, server-delivered offers, downloadable assets, and scripts.
• Integrate REST/JSON APIs, real-time services, monetization flows, purchase recovery, and third-party SDKs.
• Ship slot games and meta-features with artists, designers, QA, and engineers using reusable and configurable code.
• Profile and optimize memory, load times, and frame rate on low-end mobile devices.
• Trace issues across scripting, native, and platform layers; refactor safely, document decisions, and participate in architecture discussions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional C++ experience, including modern C++, memory management, and debugging native crashes.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals in a typed or dynamic language.
• Experience with a scripting language; Lua is preferred, while C#, JavaScript, or Python also count, with willingness to become productive in Lua quickly.
• Experience with REST/JSON, unreliable networks, retries, and asynchronous state.
• Strong cross-layer debugging skills, including reading crash logs.
• Focus on performance on mobile hardware.
• Ability to learn an unfamiliar, long-lived codebase quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping games or mobile apps with Unity/C#, Cocos2d-x, Unreal, or a custom engine.
• Native iOS development with Objective-C or Xcode, or Android development with Java, NDK, or JNI.
• Experience with in-app purchases, payment flows, remote configuration, feature flags, or server-delivered content.
• Experience with real-time or multiplayer features, live-ops events, tournaments, leaderboards, analytics, and BI instrumentation.
• Experience using AI tools in development, Spine or similar animation runtimes, localization, or automated client tests.
