Project Manager Security Domain, IRIS2 Programme Office (Satellite Security)

Location: Betzdorf, Luxembourg; at least 60% onsite from the office. Travel is required as needed for project realization.

SES is working with consortium partners and core members to build and operate the IRIS2 secure European Union satellite constellation.

What you will do

• Lead planning and execution of security work packages within the IRIS2 programme with the Security Domain Leader, European Commission, ESA, and industrial partners.
• Coordinate security documentation, including risk assessments, security architecture, threat models, and compliance roadmaps.
• Ensure alignment with EU requirements for classified information, export control, and cybersecurity, including document classification and liaison with security accreditation authorities.
• Track timelines, milestones, dependencies, budgets, KPIs, risks, and security deliverables; report programme evolution to Programme Management.
• Coordinate technical teams, security stakeholders, programme leadership, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Engineering; support vendors, RFPs, and subcontract management.
• Represent the security team in reviews, audits, and coordination meetings while contributing to security governance and operational policies.

Requirements

• University degree in Telecom, IT, or Satellite Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience participating, at least partially, in the design, development, implementation, testing, validation, and operations of satellite or ground systems, or equivalent complex aerospace programmes.
• Minimum 5 years of proven professional project management experience; waterfall experience is preferred, ideally with PMI or similar certification.
• Proven experience working with EU, ESA, or national governmental institutions according to ECSS standards.
• Experience with MS Tools, including MS Project.
• Excellent project management, time management, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, teamwork, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in complex project or matrix organizations, manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and think strategically.
• Eligibility for ESA/EU SECRET personnel security clearances is essential, and willingness to undergo the security clearance procedure is required.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required.
