Go Developer (Fintech)

Location: Baku; fully remote, office-based, or hybrid work options are available.

What you will do

• Build and evolve a real-time cross-selling platform for personalized insurance offers.
• Own backend services for multiple user-facing applications and advance the gRPC-based microservice architecture.
• Design and maintain REST and gRPC APIs integrating insurance platforms and third-party services such as risk scoring, KYC, and payments.
• Model transactional PostgreSQL data for policies, claims, customer records, and audit trails.
• Implement event-driven workflows with RabbitMQ or Kafka, and develop unit and integration tests for claims, premiums, and monetary calculations.
• Instrument services with Grafana and Prometheus, participate in code reviews, and contribute to scalable, available, fault-tolerant architecture within an Agile/Scrum team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial development experience, including 5+ years with Go in production.
• Higher education in Computer Science, software development, or a related field.
• Extensive experience working with AI and implementing or configuring it within a team.
• Experience in fintech or banking and with complex integrations.
• Strong hands-on Go experience with concurrency, including goroutines and channels.
• Production experience designing, developing, and maintaining gRPC-based microservice architectures.
• Experience containerizing and deploying backend services; designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, and database migrations.
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka, unit and integration testing, and Grafana and Prometheus monitoring, metrics, and alerting.
• Experience designing scalable, highly available systems for high-throughput, real-time workloads, with knowledge of fault tolerance, idempotency, SLA considerations, and service reliability.
• Active participation in code reviews, ownership of backend components throughout their lifecycle, and experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• English: Upper-Intermediate or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance or other regulated domains.
• Familiarity with GDPR and PCI DSS, plus understanding of policies, underwriting, and the claims lifecycle.
