TL;DR
Aerospace Engineering Expert - Remote (Aerospace Engineering): Designing challenging technical problems and evaluating solutions across aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, GNC, orbital mechanics, and systems engineering with an accent on realistic constraints, technical accuracy, and objective evaluation criteria. Focus on developing step-by-step engineering solutions, reviewing technical work, and identifying ambiguous or technically flawed problems.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $80–$185/hour

hirify.global is engaging aerospace engineering experts for an advanced technical evaluation project.

What you will do

  • Design challenging technical problems across aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), orbital mechanics, and systems engineering.
  • Develop realistic aerospace scenarios with practical constraints and supporting technical data.
  • Provide accurate solutions with clear, step-by-step technical reasoning.
  • Define objective criteria for consistent evaluation of technical answers.
  • Review other contributors’ problems for accuracy, completeness, and sound engineering methodology.
  • Identify ambiguous, technically flawed, or unsuitable problems.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Principal-, Staff-, or Fellow-level industry experience at a major aerospace organization, or a faculty appointment at a leading university.
  • Deep technical expertise in at least one aerospace engineering subdomain, supported by hands-on ownership of relevant work.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and solutions clearly enough for independent verification by other engineers.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Publications, patents, or a proven record of technical leadership in aerospace engineering.
  • Previous AI or Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation experience.
