Android Developer (Kotlin)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, scalable, and accessible Android applications.
• Own the Android lifecycle from planning and implementation through testing, release, and monitoring.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional domain team with Android, iOS, web, and backend engineers to deliver consistent customer experiences.
• Contribute beyond Android when needed, particularly to the Angular/TypeScript webshop.
• Manage releases and monitor app performance through Firebase.
• Share Android expertise through code reviews, technical guidance, pair programming, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Kotlin, the Android SDK, and widely used Jetpack libraries.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices.
• Expertise in established design patterns and architectural approaches such as Clean Architecture and MVVM.
• Ability to write testable code and Unit, Integration, and UI tests.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web service integrations.
• Familiarity with modern development and CI/CD pipelines and tools, including GitHub Actions.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of UX principles and attention to UI placement, layouts, and interaction patterns.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English, plus openness to learning and contributing across platforms and technologies.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with TypeScript and Angular.
• Proficiency in German or willingness to learn German.
