Payments & Fraud Data Analyst (iGaming): Turning transactional and player-behaviour data into payment performance insights, fraud controls, AML analysis, and operational reporting with an accent on payment optimization, abuse detection, and risk decisioning. What you will do
- Own end-to-end payment performance analytics across success rates, declines, payment methods, and providers.
- Identify fraud and abuse patterns, including promo abuse, multi-accounting, chargebacks, and money cycling, and translate findings into rules, thresholds, and segments.
- Design, back-test, and monitor automated risk decisions while balancing fraud capture with friction for genuine players.
- Build Looker or Tableau dashboards and anomaly alerts for payment and risk performance.
- Partner with Compliance on AML investigations, data analysis, and audit-ready reporting.
- Support Operations and Customer Service with workload, case-outcome, and player-friction analytics; document data sources, metrics, and automation logic.
Requirements
- Hands-on data analyst experience in payments, fraud, risk, or AML, ideally in gaming, iGaming, fintech, or another high-volume digital environment.
- Strong SQL skills using a cloud data warehouse; BigQuery is preferred.
- Practical experience with Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Experience analyzing fraud and abuse patterns in transactional and behavioural data, including the trade-off between fraud capture and friction.
- Ability to take analytical projects from ambiguous questions through solution delivery, documentation, and impact monitoring.
- Clear communication with Operations, Compliance, and senior leadership, including challenging assumptions with data in a remote-team setting.
- Investigative mindset and strong attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Python for deeper analysis, anomaly detection, or modelling.
- Familiarity with fraud-scoring tools, device or behavioural signals, social casino mechanics, or ML approaches to fraud detection.
