Research Fellow, Grade 1 (AI)

Location: Full-time, fixed-term position based at hirify.global Brisbane South (Nathan), Australia; work across other university locations may be required.

Salary: AUD 91,705–107,420 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation; total package AUD 107,295–125,682 per annum.

What you will do

• Test large compound libraries to identify novel immune-potentiating vaccine adjuvants.
• Implement cytotoxicity, endotoxin, immunological, and related assays.
• Conduct in vitro cell-based, mechanistic, and in vivo immunogenicity and reactogenicity studies in mice.
• Contribute to machine learning and AI approaches for compound triaging and analyze large research datasets.
• Prepare research reports, presentations, and publications.
• Act as Program Manager for the Centre of Research Excellence and contribute to laboratory management.

Requirements

• PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, therapeutic discovery, vaccinology, or a related area.
• Experience in laboratory work, including cell culture.
• Demonstrated experience managing large datasets, performing assays, and conducting data analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with therapeutic discovery and development approaches.
• Strong oral and written communication, excellent record keeping, and good time management.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet project requirements.
• Flexibility to adjust working hours when required to meet project objectives and deadlines.
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia are required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Successful candidates may be subject to a criminal history check.
