Senior Financial Controller

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa; eligible employees may work remotely one day per week

What you will do

• Oversee timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for hirify.global Africa in line with hirify.global policies and local accounting standards.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, departmental budget support, and financial performance analysis.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls, manage financial risks, and ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, local regulations, and hirify.global standards.
• Manage internal and external audit relationships, including documentation, communication, and responses to audit requests.
• Develop financial models and provide analysis for investments, partnerships, projects, and other strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate with global finance teams and external partners while leading, mentoring, and managing the financial control team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a multinational or sports organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance.
• Proficiency in IFRS and GAAP, with advanced financial reporting and analysis skills.
• Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• High accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, reporting, and compliance.
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple financial projects, deadlines, and cross-functional coordination.
• Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new software quickly.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing a finance team.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Nice to have

• CPA, CFA, or similar certification.
