Senior Systems Engineer Infrastructure (AWS)

Location: Vienna, Austria; remote is listed, while the workplace type is In Person. Valid work permission in Austria is required.

Minimum yearly salary: €74,200 gross; actual salary depends on experience, qualifications, and education.

What you will do

• Diagnose complex issues across servers, networks, cloud environments, and enterprise systems, identifying root causes and risks.
• Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions and integrate platforms across hybrid-cloud and on-premises environments.
• Test, refine, and automate workflows and operational processes to improve reliability, efficiency, and repeatability.
• Document architectures, procedures, and hand-offs to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
• Coordinate Architects, Project Managers, and Technicians while driving projects from initiation through completion.
• Communicate technical solutions to customers and stakeholders and deliver measurable infrastructure outcomes.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in a relevant technology domain, such as cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data and analytics, or software development.
• Enterprise IT application experience.
• Hands-on experience in at least one of software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in the public-cloud AWS domain.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows.
• Fluent English and German.
• Valid work permission in Austria.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IT concepts, practices, procedures, and technical design techniques.
• Strong logic, reasoning, analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience with Windows Server, AD, DNS, GPO, PKI, RDS, VMware Cloud Foundation, Veeam, MSSQL, IIS, CheckMK, Graylog, PowerShell, and Python.
