TL;DR
Senior Legal Counsel (AI/Privacy): Advising SITA’s Borders Business Unit on digital travel, biometrics, AI, privacy, sanctions, compliance, public procurement, government engagements, and strategic international deals with an accent on legal risk management and contract governance. Focus on managing external counsel, supporting dispute resolution, delivering legal training, and navigating complex cross-border projects involving customers, suppliers, regulators, and governments.

Location: Casablanca, Morocco; hybrid work with the option to work from home up to 2 days per week depending on team needs.

Flex-Location allows working from any location in the world for up to 30 days per year.

What you will do

  • Advise the Borders Business Unit on digital travel, biometrics, AI, privacy, sanctions, compliance, and related business strategies.
  • Guide public procurement matters and direct engagements with governments.
  • Support strategic deals, including industry partnerships, consortia, and joint ventures.
  • Manage relationships with local external counsel and work closely with Contract Management.
  • Assess and manage legal risks through internal business approval processes and support formal and informal dispute resolution.
  • Prepare and deliver legal training on contractual and legal issues when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Law.
  • Appropriate legal qualification as a registered or licensed Attorney, Lawyer, Solicitor, Barrister, or equivalent international qualification.
  • Solid experience in a legal domain and/or broad experience across more than one domain.
  • Ability to work autonomously and influence through practical legal and business expertise.
  • Strong drive, problem-solving, analytical, communication, learning, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • English and Arabic are required.
