Software Engineer II (C#/.NET)

Location: Tysons, Virginia, United States; office collaboration is required 4 days a week.

Salary: $88,000–$122,500 USD base salary per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain C#/.NET back-end services for property and unit management, smart access, device lifecycle, and customer-facing web interfaces.
• Own features from ambiguous requirements through design, implementation, testing, release, and production support.
• Build resilient integrations, APIs, and data flows with property management systems and partner platforms.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Debug issues across environments, identify root causes, and deliver durable fixes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools consistently and rigorously validate generated code for correctness, security, edge cases, and maintainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and professional C#/.NET experience preferred.
• Experience with SQL databases, including schema and application development.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with a modern front-end framework; React preferred.
• Experience creating and maintaining unit tests.
• Ability to take ownership from design through delivery and work independently and cross-functionally with strong written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into a professional engineering workflow.
• Experience with observability, logging, error handling, and production monitoring.
• Experience with external-facing APIs, third-party integrations, IoT, or hardware.
• Experience developing highly available, high-throughput services.
