Financial Controller (Fintech)

Location: Riga; hybrid options available.

What you will do

• Review monthly results for group entities, compare performance with budgets and forecasts, and explain significant movements.
• Support annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, reforecasting, entity trial balances, and quarterly group consolidation.
• Coordinate external audits, prepare schedules and reconciliations, respond to auditor queries, and implement recommendations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly regulatory reports, reconcile reported figures, and respond to regulatory enquiries.
• Reconcile intercompany balances, resolve differences, and prepare confirmations for consolidation and audit.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close and improve controls, documentation, and reporting efficiency using AI tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Two to three years of professional experience in audit or advisory at a Big Four accounting firm.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for reconciliations, data analysis, and reporting, with critical review of their output.
• Sound understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and reconciliation analysis.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage several entities and competing deadlines.
• Clear communication, effective cross-jurisdictional collaboration, initiative, issue-spotting, and follow-through.
• Professionally fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-entity groups, intercompany reconciliations, or consolidation.
• ACCA qualification, completed or in progress.
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or another regulated financial services environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for electronic money or payment institutions.
• Experience with consolidation software or finance process automation.
• Additional languages relevant to hirify.global’s markets.
