Cyber Security Engineer (SIEM)

Location: Valencia, Barcelona, or Madrid, Spain; remote work options available.

What you will do

• Implement and fine-tune security use cases on SIEM/XDR platforms to improve detection coverage, reduce false positives, and enhance alert quality.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize scripts, API integrations, and automation workflows for SIEM/XDR technologies.
• Support simulated threats and threat scenarios used to test and improve detection capabilities.
• Contribute to the security technology roadmap and collaborate with Security Detection and Incident Response teams.
• Manage and deliver security monitoring reports and dashboards to risk, information security, technology, and management stakeholders.
• Follow the BI framework, SOPs, working instructions, and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in Cybersecurity, ideally in Security Operations or Cyber Intelligence teams.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel SIEM and Azure environments.
• Experience designing and developing security use cases for SIEM/XDR technologies, such as Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash, including API integrations.
• Experience with reporting and ticketing platforms, preferably ServiceNow.
• Understanding of common security weaknesses, remediation, prioritization, change management, analysis, and triage.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, results orientation, communication, teamwork, and a proactive collaborative attitude.
• Ability to work in virtual, international, and multicultural teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Breach & Attack Simulation tools and threat scenario creation.
• Microsoft Sentinel or Microsoft Defender certifications.
