TL;DR
Senior Database Developer (Healthcare) (SQL Server/SSIS): Developing, maintaining, and optimizing data integration solutions and ETL processes for healthcare systems with an accent on T-SQL, SSIS packages, and SQL Server reliability. Focus on modeling data mappings, troubleshooting complex database issues, supporting releases, and improving code and batch-processing efficiency.

Location: Kenya One Africa Place; hybrid workplace

What you will do

  • Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance core ETL processes and SQL Server environments.
  • Develop and optimize SSIS packages and T-SQL code, including stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Model and document SQL data-mapping solutions with business and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with senior developers and business stakeholders to document requirements and design solutions.
  • Support regular releases and monitor data-processing batches.
  • Suggest improvements to code, tools, and development processes while supporting application reliability.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience developing and supporting SQL Server solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with ETL processes, preferably using SSIS.
  • Knowledge of OLAP and OLTP environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to reverse engineer code.
  • Experience working in Agile development teams.
  • Self-motivated, able to see projects through to completion, and committed to quality and governance standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; passion for technology and data-driven solutions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with C#, VB.NET, or other programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Python or PySpark.
  • Experience with Git or other source control tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL Change Automation or Liquibase.
  • Exposure to continuous integration and delivery practices (CI/CD).
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar tools.
  • Experience with SAFe or other Agile frameworks.
