Senior SRE, DevOps Engineer (Data Platform)

Location: Remote; Astana, Kazakhstan. Remote, office, and hybrid work formats are available.

What you will do

• Develop end-to-end monitoring for Trino, Kubernetes, databases, Apache Ozone, Hadoop, and other infrastructure stacks.
• Implement automated DORA metrics collection and build high-level service health and uptime dashboards.
• Audit infrastructure metrics and close monitoring gaps across Kubernetes, databases, and distributed storage systems.
• Optimize Alertmanager rules to detect incidents and anomalies before they affect users.
• Act as the monitoring subject-matter expert, supporting dashboard configuration and alerting needs across teams.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of DevOps/SRE experience and at least 5 years of total IT experience.
• Experience as an SRE or monitoring engineer focused on infrastructure reliability rather than product feature development.
• Experience with Python; Go or JavaScript is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager, including complex PromQL queries and alert-fatigue reduction.
• Practical understanding of SLI, SLO, SLA, error budgets, and DORA metrics collection methodology.
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes, databases, and metrics for distributed systems such as Hadoop and Trino.
• Ability to translate system behavior and logs into clear, structured, actionable metrics.
• Experience with at least one of ClickHouse, Vertica, StarRocks, or Greenplum.
