Security Monitoring Operator (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, Košice, Bratislava, or Žilina, Slovakia; 24/7 shift work required.

Basic wage component: from €1,700 gross per month; performance bonus up to 10% of the basic salary, paid twice per year.

What you will do

• Work in a global 24/7 MDR center as part of shift operations under expert guidance.
• Use EDR, XDR, SIEM, and SOAR systems to detect, investigate, and mitigate security threats.
• Analyze client data, document adversary activity, escalate incidents, and prepare client reports.
• Support threat hunting, intelligence gathering, and other proactive security activities.
• Create and maintain low-level EDR, XDR, and SIEM rules and improve the MDR Security Toolset.
• Contribute to Incident Response guidelines, playbooks, threat reporting systems, and monitoring service improvements.

Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of Windows and Linux systems and their inner workings.
• Knowledge of computer networks, including IP addresses, ports, protocols, and MAC addresses.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency (B2).
• Willingness to work 24/7 shifts monitoring client environments.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, patience when processing large volumes of data, strong communication skills, independence, and self-motivation.
• Passion for continuous learning and a genuine interest in cybersecurity and security monitoring.

Nice to have

• IT security education or background.
• IT security or cybersecurity certifications such as CEH, GIAC, RHCE, CompTIA, CRTO, Offensive Security, or Security Blue Team.
• Familiarity with forensics analysis or Incident Response.
• Previous experience in a SOC environment.
• Familiarity with SIEM or SOAR systems such as Splunk, QRadar, Elasticsearch, or ArcSight.
• Participation in CTFs or similar cybersecurity competitions.
• Basic scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Lua.
