Senior/Staff Backend Engineer (Go/Ruby)

Location: Remote, while living in or willing to relocate to Germany, France, Italy, Serbia, or Spain

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain services that process real-time financial transactions.
• Co-own service architecture, resilience, scalability, and Domain-Driven Design practices.
• Lead technical design discussions, anticipate risks, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Improve engineering reliability by fixing flaky CI, monitoring incidents, running post-mortems, and sharing learnings.
• Collaborate in autonomous squad teams with Product, Design, Frontend, and Mobile colleagues.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with large-scale web application architecture and real production constraints.
• Ability to transfer quickly to similar technologies and work with unfamiliar stacks.
• Experience writing tests, setting up monitoring, handling incidents, and performing root cause analysis.
• Ownership mindset with attention to post-release impact, regressions, and continuous improvement.
• Fluent English and the ability to collaborate effectively in squad teams.
• Must live in or be willing to relocate to Germany, France, Italy, Serbia, or Spain.
