TL;DR
Junior/Mid Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Monitoring servers and applications and developing detection and response capabilities for critical infrastructure and international customer environments with an accent on SIEM, EDR, cloud, containers, and IDS/IPS. Focus on investigating suspicious-event patterns, configuring security integrations, tuning alerts for precision, and responding to security incidents.

Location: Athens, Greece; hybrid working model with office presence in Athens.

What you will do

  • Investigate patterns and implement alerts and visualisations in the SIEM to detect suspicious events.
  • Respond to and follow up on alerts generated by SIEM and EDR solutions, tuning them for precision.
  • Configure integrations between SIEM and other systems and environments, including cloud and containers.
  • Configure and monitor IDS/IPS solutions.
  • Identify improvements, monitor servers and applications, optimise detection mechanisms, and advise colleagues about alerts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, IT, systems administration, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of SIEM or EDR solutions.
  • Strong motivation and eagerness to learn, develop technical skills, and grow in cybersecurity.
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

  • Basic understanding of low-level programming concepts, memory management, and computer architecture.
  • Familiarity with C and its application in systems programming and security analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems, command-line tools, file permissions, and system administration.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation, system administration, and security operations.
  • Understanding of operating system internals, system architecture, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting.
