Lead App Engineer (Flutter)

Location: Hybrid in Hamburg or Berlin, Germany

What you will do

• Build and maintain the mobile application for iOS and Android using Flutter.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and establish coding standards for the team.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Testers, Backend, Web, and other teams in a cross-stack environment.
• Introduce technologies, tools, and processes that improve developer productivity and product quality.
• Debug performance and reliability issues across the stack.

Requirements

• 4+ years of programming experience, including at least 1 year of app development.
• Expert-level knowledge of Dart and Flutter.
• Experience with CI/CD, such as fastlane or GitHub Actions, plus unit and golden tests.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization and profiling.
• Strong ownership, self-drive, leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical degree.
• Native mobile experience with iOS and/or Android, or mobile automated testing experience.
• Experience with gRPC, Firebase, and monitoring tools such as Sentry or DataDog.
• Figma knowledge and open-source experience.
