Software Engineer - DevSecOps

Location: Reading, United Kingdom; hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office, as confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

What you will do

• Write, modify, review, test, and debug high-quality code across front-end, back-end, and data layers.
• Integrate systems through APIs, messaging queues, and databases, and develop data pipelines and large-scale processing jobs.
• Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Package and deploy applications across environments using containerization and orchestration tools.
• Monitor production applications, investigate incidents, analyze logs, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Apply secure coding practices, manage secrets, enforce authentication and authorization, optimize code, and maintain audit documentation.

Requirements

• Relevant bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Experience writing, modifying, and reviewing code for commercial or end-user applications.
• Experience debugging software issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience developing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Experience integrating systems through APIs, messaging queues, and databases.
• Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deploying applications.
• Experience applying secure coding practices and complying with regulatory standards.

• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines and large-scale data processing jobs.
• Experience using AI-powered coding tools to enhance productivity.
• Experience optimizing code for performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
