Applied AI Security Architect (Healthcare & Life Sciences)

Location: New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA; hybrid, with staff expected to be in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time. Regular travel to customer sites is required.

Annual salary/OTE: $315,000–$380,000 USD, including base salary and target sales commissions or bonuses.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary security and compliance expert in customer engagements, explaining Claude’s architecture, data flows, encryption, access controls, and deployment models.
• Partner with CISOs, security architects, and compliance teams at healthcare and life sciences organizations to design solutions aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Lead technical deep-dives covering network architecture, data residency, API security, authentication and authorization, audit logging, and integration patterns.
• Support enterprise security reviews, vendor assessments, and due diligence with technical documentation and expert guidance.
• Collaborate with GTM, Applied AI, product, and engineering teams to provide customer feedback, assess security requirements, and influence roadmap priorities.
• Develop security collateral, reference architectures, best-practice documentation, enablement materials, and customer-facing content for regulated industries.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise security, cloud architecture, or technical pre-sales, with significant exposure to regulated industries, especially healthcare and life sciences.
• Deep knowledge of network security, identity and access management, encryption at rest and in transit, API security, and audit/logging requirements.
• Experience with healthcare and life sciences compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, GxP, HITECH, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.
• Experience engaging with CISOs, security teams, and compliance officers at large enterprises.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud architecture and deployment models, including VPCs, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex security topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and move quickly in a rapidly evolving market.
• Collaborative mindset and interest in helping regulated organizations adopt AI safely and responsibly.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
