Editorial Manager (Investing)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid work with four days in-office each week in most locations.

What you will do

• Grow engagement with Japanese editorial coverage and publish a regular flow of data-driven articles, videos, news, and analysis.
• Monitor US and European editorial coverage for topics relevant to Japanese investors, including stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds available in Japan.
• Manage programming and content lineups for the Japan and Asia regional websites.
• Develop and refine market and investing stories with a global team of journalists and coordinate with equity and manager research teams.
• Ensure editorial quality and clarity, apply SEO best practices, and write clear, engaging headlines.
• Monitor market trends important to Japanese investors and lead the editorial work of one current team member.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience editing and writing investing or markets articles.
• Proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English.
• Ability to shape compelling ledes, succinct conclusions, and overall story structures that clearly convey information to readers.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize copy flow under time pressure, and manage competing demands from team members and editors.
• Experience editing stories on deadline and at speed without sacrificing high editorial standards.
• Confidence adopting new technologies into daily workflows and an interest in innovation.

Nice to have

• Experience using financial data platforms such as hirify.global, FactSet, or Bloomberg in the editorial process.
• Familiarity with hirify.global research and data.
• Comfort with Excel.
• Experience working in a large organization with multiple teams and reporting lines.
• Experience working with teams where English is not the first language for some members.
• Experience with data visualization.
