What you will do

• Support day-to-day accounting and reporting activities, including maintaining accurate accounting records and financial data.
• Process financial transactions and invoices, resolve payment queries, and assist with credit control activities.
• Ensure processes are documented in a standard, accessible format and comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
• Analyse financial data, prepare reports, and support budgeting and commercial accounting investigations or projects.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and participate in meetings focused on strategy, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
• Refine accounting processes and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Requirements

• Some relevant work experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
• Tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Current or pending certification as an accountant.
• Accounting, financial accounting, financial data reporting, analytical thinking, critical thinking, communication, problem solving, prioritization, risk management, and working independently.

Nice to have

• Accounting experience within a complex financial services organisation.
• Moderate accounting experience within a complex financial services organisation.
• Audit experience, with Big Four experience considered an advantage.
• Insurance industry experience.
• Experience with accounts payable and general accounting procedures.
• Experience using Oracle Financials or a similar ERP system.
• Proficiency in data entry and data management.
• Treasury or settlements experience.
• Consistent and constructive people management capabilities.
• Experience taking active accountability for own workload.
