Head Data Office (Data Governance)

What you will do

• Define and continuously evolve the enterprise data strategy, target state, and roadmap covering data management, governance, quality, lifecycle, records management, and accessibility.
• Establish enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, standards, policies, controls, operating procedures, ownership, stewardship, and accountability.
• Drive data quality management and oversee metadata management, business glossaries, data lineage, data catalogues, reference data, master data, and records management.
• Act as the interface between business, risk, compliance, legal, information security, AI, technology, and operations stakeholders on data governance, risks, controls, and remediation.
• Embed data requirements and governance principles in strategic transformation initiatives and ensure compliance with data protection, retention, records management, and reporting obligations across jurisdictions.
• Develop and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary data governance and data management team while promoting data ownership, literacy, training, stakeholder engagement, and change management.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data management, data governance, information management, data quality, or related disciplines within global financial institutions.
• Deep understanding of private banking or wealth management processes, regulatory requirements, and data challenges in a complex global environment.
• Proven experience establishing and managing enterprise data governance frameworks, data quality programmes, and data management operating models.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, master data management, data lineage, and data lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with regulatory expectations for data management, data protection, risk management, and reporting in financial services.
• Proven people leadership experience building and leading multidisciplinary teams in complex matrix organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including engagement with senior executives and governance committees.
• Ability to translate regulatory, operational, and business requirements into practical data management solutions and sustainable governance practices.
• Excellent English communication skills; a master’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; strong organisational skills, discretion, independent ownership, prioritisation, adaptability, and sound judgment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus collaboration platforms such as Webex, Teams, or SharePoint.
