Java Software Developer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Yazara Istanbul Office, Istanbul, Türkiye, with remote work available.

What you will do

• Develop, design, debug, maintain, test, implement, and validate applications throughout the software development life cycle.
• Build basic to moderately complex code for internal and external client software solutions using front-end and back-end technologies across multiple platforms.
• Analyze applications, develop unit tests and documentation, validate code changes, and correct code deficiencies.
• Participate in client-facing meetings, joint venture discussions, and vendor partnership teams to determine solution approaches.
• Support application standards, controls, procedures, monitoring, data accuracy, and PCI security compliance.
• Prepare basic billable-hour and resource estimates, assist with on-the-job training, and guide other software engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• Advanced knowledge of one or more front-end or back-end languages and technologies, with moderate understanding of the corresponding technology area.
• Experience with two or more modern enterprise programming languages, APIs, external services, and both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of one or more operating systems: Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL, Amazon Linux, Microsoft Windows, z/OS, or Tandem/HP-Nonstop.
• Database design familiarity, including DDL and DML, with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, IMS, DB2, or Hadoop.
• Experience or knowledge of back-end technologies including Java, Python, .NET, Ruby, Mainframe COBOL, or Mainframe Assembler.
• Experience or knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, or CICS, and web technologies such as Node.js, React.js, Angular, or Redux.
• Ability to work with development tools such as Eclipse, Visual Studio, Webpack, Babel, or Gulp; mobile development platforms and machine-learning technologies are also listed.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• Experience with IBM Rational Tools.
