Functional Analyst (Payroll Systems)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; Newmarket Campus. Flexible employment practices include working from home and flexible hours.

Salary: NZ$87,000–NZ$107,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Provide third-level technical support and enhancements for customer-facing, high-impact technologies supporting People & Culture services.
• Analyse enhancement requests, business processes, system requirements, data flows, and integrations.
• Discuss, prototype, test, and deploy new system features, changes, and fixes.
• Create and maintain knowledge content for audiences with different levels of technical understanding.
• Engage with business stakeholders and participate in team planning to prioritise features and fixes.

Requirements

• Strong experience supporting and optimising payroll systems; experience with aPay or a similar enterprise payroll platform is preferred.
• Ability to analyse business processes, system requirements, data flows, and integrations to deliver effective solutions.
• Experience managing incidents, service requests, and user support through ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform.
• Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills, including the ability to identify and implement practical enhancements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement and user documentation.
• Experience working across business and technical teams in complex organisational environments.
• Experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or Applications Support professional, with a strong understanding of People & Culture systems and business processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with aPay or a similar enterprise payroll platform.
• Agile experience.
