Storyboard Illustrator (Robotics)

Location: Based in Redwood City or San Francisco, CA; in person for kickoff and reviews at the Redwood City office, otherwise async with one 30-minute sync per week. Pacific-time workflow.

Compensation: $25–$35/hour, depending on experience.

hirify.global is developing personal home robots, including Memo, to automate repetitive household tasks and help households reclaim time.

What you will do

• Translate 4–6 written user journeys into illustrated storyboards of 6–10 frames each, producing approximately 40–60 frames with revisions.
• Draw Memo, people, and home interiors such as bedrooms, hallways, and laundry areas from robot reference photos.
• Create loose, clean black-and-white line art with accent color markings for explaining product ideas.
• Deliver PNG or PDF frames sized for slides, together with editable source files, through the product team’s shared Notion page.
• Incorporate feedback from product, design, and robot software reviewers quickly, while flagging ambiguous or physically implausible journey steps.

Requirements

• A portfolio with at least one multi-frame sequence, such as a storyboard, comic page, animatic, or explainer, where the story reads without captions.
• Confident figure drawing and interior perspective skills, with the ability to maintain a product’s proportions consistently across frames from photo reference.
• Ability to produce a first pass of a full journey in one or two days and revise it within the same week.
• Clear, prompt communication in an async, Pacific-time workflow.
• Willingness to sign an NDA and work-for-hire agreement; Sunday owns the output.
• Ability to work in person for the kickoff and reviews at the Redwood City office.

Nice to have

• Storyboard or concept art experience for consumer hardware, appliances, vehicles, or robots.
• UX storyboarding or customer-journey illustration experience for a product team.
• Familiarity with Figma or FigJam for placing frames into flows.
• Strong interest in robotics or smart home products.
