Incident Response Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: USA - Remote

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 per year for U.S. candidates, with eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

What you will do

• Serve as part of the technical team on incident response engagements, including investigations for major organizations.
• Develop and apply methods to hunt for bad actors across large datasets.
• Conduct intrusion investigations under project leadership and outside counsel.
• Perform host- and network-based forensics across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.
• Prepare written and verbal reports, presentations, recommendations, and findings for customer management, regulators, and legal counsel.

Requirements

• Knowledge of or experience with incident response investigations, including targeted threats such as nation-state actors, e-crime, and hacktivists.
• Experience using computer forensic analysis tools to determine the extent and scope of compromise.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, network analysis tools such as Bro/Zeek or Suricata, and associated network logs.
• Ability to understand static and dynamic malware analysis.
• Strong understanding of targeted attacks and the ability to support customized tactical and strategic remediation plans.
• Understanding of secure network architecture and a strong background in network operations.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP incident response methodologies.
• Strong ability to communicate executive- and detailed-level findings to clients and communicate tasks, guidance, and methodology to internal teams.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Ability to operate as an individual contributor and interact with customers.
