Senior Java Developer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Develop, design, debug, test, implement, validate, and maintain moderately complex applications across front-end and back-end platforms.
• Create program specifications, application documentation, implementation plans, and development deliverables for multiple projects and issues.
• Analyze complex code, perform unit testing, advise on validation and corrective measures, and propose systemic improvements.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams, clients, joint ventures, and vendors to determine solution approaches.
• Advise leadership on application and infrastructure standards, controls, procedures, monitoring, and Payment Card Industry security compliance.
• Support resource estimates and billable-hour planning, assist with on-the-job training, and provide technical expertise to software engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business / Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Typically at least 6 years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• Advanced knowledge and use of at least two modern enterprise programming languages or technologies across front-end and back-end development.
• Experience working with APIs, external services, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with one or more Linux distributions, Microsoft Windows, z/OS, or Tandem/HP-Nonstop.
• Database design familiarity with DDL and DML and one or more of Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, IMS, DB2, or Hadoop.
• Experience with one or more back-end technologies such as Java, Python, .NET, Ruby, Mainframe COBOL, or Mainframe Assembler.
• Experience with relevant front-end, web, development, or mobile technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CICS, Node.js, React, Angular, Redux, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Webpack, Babel, Gulp, iOS, or Android.
• Ability to work on complex issues, evaluate variable factors, select appropriate methods, and exercise judgment in obtaining results; may coordinate activities of other personnel.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• Experience with IBM Rational Tools.
• Experience with machine-learning technologies such as Python, R, Matlab, TensorFlow, or DMTK.
