Thesis – Speech-to-Text on Edge IoT Device (AI)

Location: Lund, Sweden; on-site workplace, with remote listed in the posting. The thesis is open only to students affiliated with a Swedish university or college, directly or through an exchange program.

What you will do

• Develop a basic speech-to-text module prototype for an edge device using existing tools and available AI models.
• Investigate the architecture of a live-translation pipeline from the edge device to the cloud.
• Compare different technical approaches while considering hardware performance limitations.
• Make the resulting solution accessible through modern version-control or other development tools.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Affiliation with a Swedish university or college, either directly or through an exchange program.
• The scope is 1–2 master's students or 2 bachelor's students.
• For proposals involving two students, applications should be submitted in pairs, with each application identifying the co-applicant.
• CV and university or college grade summary must be submitted.
