Senior Enterprise Architect (SAP Commerce Cloud)

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; onsite/hybrid with flexible hours.

What you will do

• Own enterprise architecture governance and standards across the full programme, using SAP Commerce Cloud as the anchor platform.
• Review and approve significant architecture decisions, chair architecture reviews, mentor tech leads, and resolve cross-team conflicts.
• Define Commerce platform, API, BFF, integration, content-commerce, release, performance, reliability, and observability standards.
• Design target-state integrations between SAP Commerce, S/4HANA, ECC, pricing, tax, and SAP Integration Suite.
• Shape the architecture practice and support the development of architects in Merkle Denmark Engineering.
• Contribute to client architecture assessments, technical audits, solution design, estimation, proposals, and pre-sales.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture, including at least 3 years of hands-on SAP Commerce experience.
• Experience setting and governing architecture standards across multiple products and teams without direct line authority.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Commerce extension architecture, data models, service-layer design, CCv2 build manifests, deployment pipelines, environment topology, and PaaS constraints.
• Working knowledge of SAP BTP, including identity and authentication services.
• Architectural fluency in OAuth2 and SSO patterns using SAML/OIDC.
• Headless and API-first architecture experience with Vue storefronts and BFF patterns.
• Experience architecting integrations between SAP Commerce, S/4HANA, ECC, and middleware or iPaaS platforms such as SAP Integration Suite.
• Working knowledge of a CMS/DXP platform such as Umbraco or an equivalent, including content-commerce boundaries.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted frontend architectures, API gateway and API management patterns, SQL, relational data modeling, and enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, C4, or DDD.
• Experience with B2B commerce across Commerce, ERP, and pricing systems, including organizational accounts, contract and customer-specific pricing, approvals, and quoting.
• Client-facing experience advising senior stakeholders and the ability to evaluate and advise teams on AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.

Nice to have

• Experience in aviation, aerospace parts, or MRO/spares distribution.
• Pre-sales experience involving solution design, estimation, and proposal input.
• Hands-on experience with SAP LeanIX and/or Signavio.
• SAP Certified Development Professional, SAP Commerce Cloud certification.
• TOGAF certification.
