Software Engineer, Intern

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand; office-based, 5 days per week

What you will do

• Contribute to the design, development, and release of desktop and web applications across front-end and back-end development.
• Collaborate with team members to develop solutions to software problems.
• Fix bugs and help design and implement new features.
• Follow established processes, patterns, standard practices, and tools to deliver quality technical work.
• Test code through unit, system, automated UI, and exploratory manual testing.
• Learn from experienced developers, testers, and domain specialists while contributing according to team needs, background, interests, and the problems being solved.

Requirements

• Currently in the second or third year of a BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar degree that includes software development courses.
• Hands-on programming experience through class projects.
• Confident and clear oral and written communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Ability to manage workload effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, and work efficiently with team members.
• A balanced and informed approach to problem-solving, with tenacity, persistence, and focus.
• Ability to adapt in a quickly growing, fast-paced, and constantly changing environment.

• Coding experience outside of class.
