Business Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid work model in Bellville, Cape Town, South Africa.

What you will do

• Analyze business processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Gather, document, and prioritize requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys.
• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional specifications for development teams.
• Create and maintain use cases, process flows, data models, system diagrams, and other requirements documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, QA specialists, architects, business users, and project stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop test cases, perform user acceptance testing, validate solutions, support project status reporting, research industry practices, and assist with user training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software development environment, preferably in financial services or FinTech.
• Ability to analyze complex business problems, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and business needs to technical teams.
• Proficiency in creating business requirements documents, functional specifications, and use cases.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to have

• Experience with requirements management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
