TL;DR
Manager, Quality Assurance (VALORANT) (Game Engine, Technical Art, Release Engineering): Leading QA strategy and people across technically complex VALORANT domains with an accent on performance testing, automation, test coverage, and quality metrics. Focus on assessing risk and complexity, improving development workflows, and driving data-informed release quality across multiple teams.
Location: Sydney, Australia, reporting into Riot Sydney Studio Leadership for VALORANT.

What you will do
- Lead and manage QA professionals across multiple VALORANT teams and Foundations areas, with a primary focus on Game Engine, Technical Art, and Release Engineering.
- Define and execute comprehensive test strategies and feature coverage plans across cross-functional development teams, including playtest activities.
- Assess quality, risk, and complexity, communicate mitigations and priorities, and influence product and craft decisions through quality insights.
- Monitor quality health, defect trends, testing data, telemetry, and reporting to support data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.
- Coach direct reports and support embedded QA professionals through complex quality challenges.
- Partner with other disciplines to improve workflows and establish quality bars aligned with initiative goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience, including experience in a leadership role.
- Experience with performance test tooling and automation.
- Experience creating product test strategies, including test design, planning, and control.
- Experience with product development pipelines and workflows.
- Experience managing the performance of embedded QA professionals.
- Experience working with remote testing teams.
- Experience establishing quality metrics that influence strategy and drive change.
Nice to have
- Experience with agile work systems.
- Experience delivering Games as a Service on any platform.
- ISTQB Foundation Level, ISTQB Agile Tester, ICAgile Agile Testing (ICP-TST), ISTQB Expert Level, or ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification.
- Experience with Game Engine quality.
- Experience with software release and deployment pipeline quality.
- Experience testing on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S/X.
