Senior Platform Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: New York City, on-site

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 base salary depending on experience, plus founding equity

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend systems supporting AI-powered applications across multiple customers.
• Develop platform architecture, including APIs, data ingestion, and multi-tenant systems.
• Work with AWS cloud infrastructure to improve security, reliability, and scalability.
• Contribute to AI infrastructure, including retrieval systems and RAG capabilities.
• Improve engineering experience through CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and development tools.
• Collaborate directly with the CTO and engineering team on technical challenges, architectural decisions, and the platform's future.

Requirements

• Strong experience in backend engineering, platform engineering, or distributed systems.
• Experience designing and building scalable, production-grade software architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
• Experience contributing to architectural decisions and owning complex technical projects.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and production infrastructure.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with freedom to make decisions and solve new problems.
• Strong communication skills and interest in collaborating directly with engineering teams and customers.

Nice to have

• Kotlin, Python, or similar backend programming languages.
• Experience with RAG, retrieval systems, or AI infrastructure.
• Next.js, Vercel, or modern frontend technologies.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or tools.
• Previous experience in a startup, founding engineering team, or early-stage technology company.
