Finance Business Partner (12 Months Fixed Term) (Commercial Finance/Digital Generation): Supporting the DigiGEN programme through budgeting, forecasting, investment cases, and financial insights with an accent on commercial decision-making, programme costs, and measurable value. Focus on modelling financial trade-offs, tracking benefits, and partnering with business and delivery leaders to improve asset availability and optimise Operations & Maintenance costs.

Location: Hybrid, Christchurch or Wellington, New Zealand

What you will do

  • Support the DigiGEN strategic change programme and work with business and programme leaders, initiative owners, and delivery teams.
  • Shape budgets, forecasts, and investment cases.
  • Turn financial and business information into clear insights and practical recommendations.
  • Track and report programme costs and benefits.
  • Help teams assess financial trade-offs, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with CAANZ membership, CA, or registration with another recognised accounting body.
  • Strong commercial finance or business partnering experience.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Ability to turn financial and business information into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Strong relationship and communication skills, with confidence to constructively challenge thinking.
  • Sound commercial judgement and a collaborative, curious approach.
  • Interest in digital tools and using data to deliver measurable value.

Nice to have

  • Experience with digital delivery, programme finance or governance, and R&D tax credits.
