Associate Pipeline Technical Director (VFX)

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and document pipeline tools and scripts for immediate show demands while following facility-wide standards.
• Provide front-line support to artists and troubleshoot issues in day-to-day CG production workflows.
• Test and validate software updates and technical workflows in production, partnering with Engineering teams on deployment.
• Collaborate with artists, production supervisors, and technical staff across global ILM studio locations.
• Follow Show Supervisor and Lead direction on daily priorities while building knowledge of core pipeline systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining tools for computer graphics.
• 0–2 years of production experience in visual effects or animation, or equivalent project experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with one or more core DCCs, such as Maya, Nuke, Houdini, or Katana, or asset frameworks such as USD.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines and translate technical issues for non-technical users.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Python experience in a Linux desktop environment.
