Lead AI Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Hybrid in Armenia, with an office in Yerevan. Relocation to Yerevan is supported for candidates and their immediate family members.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end development of generative AI systems integrating biological, imaging, sequencing, and digital pathology data.
• Design foundation model architectures and ensure scientific and computational rigor.
• Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to ML engineers and researchers.
• Partner with scientists, engineers, and product teams to define outcomes, requirements, and data strategies.
• Evaluate new methodologies, propose research directions, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Guide LLM-based automation and multimodal diffusion architectures into production while maintaining data quality, reproducibility, audit readiness, and GCP/GCLP compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in machine learning and computer vision.
• Proven experience designing complex generative or multimodal AI systems.
• Expert-level Python and PyTorch skills.
• Deep expertise in generative modeling, including diffusion models, VAEs, and multimodal architectures.
• Experience processing large-scale biological data such as RNA-seq, xCR, and digital pathology data.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps, experiment tracking, scalable model deployment, statistical analysis, and experimental design.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in machine learning, bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience leading teams, establishing processes, and driving ML strategy.
• Experience integrating LLM-based automation and designing complex multimodal systems.
