TL;DR
Project Manager, AI and Tech (AI): Leading a 12-month international programme across Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia to equip content creators to combat AI-enabled disinformation with an accent on AI editorial tools, synthetic media resilience, legal safeguards, and content moderation infrastructure. Focus on coordinating distributed teams and delivery partners, managing budgets and risks, measuring impact, and supporting implementation across multiple countries.
Location: Hybrid, based in Nairobi, Kenya or Lagos, Nigeria. The role includes international travel across Africa as required.

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a 12-month international programme across Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, and other relevant countries.
- Deploy AI tools and develop content moderation and editorial quality infrastructure to support media workflows.
- Build content creator resilience against synthetic media threats and AI-enabled mis- and disinformation.
- Provide legal safeguards related to public information, including defamation and intellectual property risks.
- Manage coordinators, consultants, delivery partners, workshops, budgets, governance, risks, and reporting.
- Monitor adoption and impact, document learning, and represent the Foundation with external partners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of outstanding project or programme management experience.
- Experience delivering projects at pace, managing distributed teams, consultants, budgets, and deadlines.
- Experience working with content creators, young journalists, or at the intersection of AI and media.
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation, including logframes, theories of change, KPIs, and reports.
- Strong organisational, partnership, outreach, networking, financial, Excel, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English is required.

- Experience leading AI and technology or AI-media projects.
- Experience in media development in Kenya, Nigeria, or Zambia.
