Quality Assurance Supervisor (ISO/IEC 17025)

Location: On-site in Kannapolis, North Carolina, in the Charlotte metro area. Regular laboratory presence is essential, with occasional extended hours for assessments and customer audits.

What you will do

• Own the quality management system, quality manual, quality calendar, document control, quality records, and CAPA tracking.
• Coordinate accreditation body assessments, surveillance and reassessment visits, scope extensions, internal audits, management reviews, and proficiency testing.
• Lead investigations of deviations, out-of-specification results, nonconforming work, complaints, corrective actions, and report recalls where required.
• Oversee personnel competency records, equipment calibration, metrological traceability, suppliers, subcontracted laboratories, and environmental monitoring.
• Set quality requirements for method validation and verification, approve method readiness packages, and control changes before release to routine testing.
• Maintain data integrity, report release procedures, nutrition label issuance, COA workflows, EH&S policies, and sanitation verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, microbiology, food science, or a related scientific discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least five years of laboratory quality experience, including QMS management, audits, and accreditation activities.
• Hands-on experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory with accreditation assessments, document control, internal audits, CAPA, proficiency testing, competency records, and management reviews.
• Working knowledge of method validation and verification, measurement uncertainty, metrological traceability, laboratory QC, and data integrity across chemistry and microbiology.
• Strong organization, written communication, investigation, and cross-functional leadership skills, including the judgment to maintain quality independence under commercial pressure.

Nice to have

• ISO/IEC 17025 internal auditor or lead assessor training, or ASQ CQA or CMQ/OE certification.
• Experience with LIMS, preferably QBench, and digital quality workflows.
• Experience with scope expansion for techniques such as ICP-MS or LC-MS/MS.
• Experience issuing nutrition labels with Panelgea, COA reporting, or managing an EH&S program.
