Chief Innovation Officer (Healthcare)

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, United States; hybrid workplace. Other listed locations include Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Annual salary: $272,200–$408,400 USD, depending on experience and geographic location. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Develop and lead the enterprise innovation strategy and a balanced portfolio across adjacent growth, disruptive business models, and emerging growth platforms.
• Design the innovation operating system, including opportunity identification, prioritization, governance, incubation, commercialization, and scaling.
• Identify unmet customer, employer, provider, payer, and consumer needs and develop new products, services, capabilities, platforms, and business models.
• Lead experimentation, pilot programs, incubators, venture-building initiatives, and pathways from validated opportunities to scalable businesses.
• Build strategic relationships with startups, venture investors, technology providers, academic institutions, and healthcare innovators.
• Advise executive leadership and influence enterprise investment, growth, technology, and commercialization decisions.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in innovation, new business development, venture building, product strategy, healthcare strategy, consulting, corporate development, entrepreneurship, or related fields.
• Demonstrated success launching new products, services, businesses, or growth initiatives.
• Experience identifying and evaluating emerging market opportunities and understanding healthcare, consumer trends, technology disruption, and business model innovation.
• Proven ability to influence executive leaders and drive enterprise change.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in highly matrixed organizations.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, creativity, commercial judgment, intellectual curiosity, and learning agility.
