Test Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Leuven, Belgium; able to work from the Leuven office at least 3 days per week

What you will do

• Automate critical user journeys across the Vue and TypeScript web platform.
• Build API and integration tests for Python and FastAPI services connected to databases, scanners, printers, and laboratory systems.
• Maintain reliable CI test suites with stable test data, clear failure reports, fast feedback, and fewer flaky tests.
• Turn recurring customer issues into regression tests and collaborate with developers to improve testability.
• Test interactive 3D tools, including editing controls, visualization, and model handling.
• Build regression tests for AI pipelines using reference datasets, evaluation criteria, and design-quality checks.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in test automation, QA engineering, SDET roles, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience automating UI and API tests with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or pytest.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable Python or TypeScript and willingness to work with both.
• Experience running fast, stable tests in CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
• Good judgment about test levels, test data management, and when to mock or use real dependencies.
• Valid work authorization in Belgium and fluent written and spoken English are required.

Nice to have

• Experience testing AI/ML systems or LLM-based applications with evaluation datasets and regression detection.
• Experience comparing 3D geometry such as meshes or point clouds against reference outputs.
• Experience with visual regression testing or 3D/WebGL applications.
• Experience with performance and load testing using tools such as k6 or Locust.
• Background in medtech, dental, or other regulated domains.
