Company

Databricks builds a data and AI platform used to develop and scale data applications, analytics, and AI agents, alongside open source projects including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, MLflow, Apache Iceberg, and Omnigent.

What you will do

  • Own medium-to-large developer advocacy projects for Omnigent from scoping through delivery.
  • Grow the open source contributor community by improving onboarding, reviewing contributions, triaging issues, and supporting new maintainers.

  • Build templates, sample repositories, reference implementations, videos, tutorials, courseware, and blog posts.
  • Present at industry events, conferences, and meetups while supporting developers across GitHub, Discord, Slack, Stack Overflow, and Reddit.
  • Advise engineering on community needs, influence roadmap discussions, and mentor less-experienced advocates.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined experience in developer advocacy and a hands-on technical role such as software engineering, ML engineering, or solutions architecture.
  • Professional software development experience and current hands-on experience with agentic developer tooling and coding agents.
  • Strong Python and TypeScript skills, with comfort using the command line and working in existing codebases.
  • Demonstrated open source contributions, including issues, pull requests, reviews, and release processes.
  • Knowledge of agent architecture, orchestration, sandboxing, and the practical challenges of running agents safely and affordably.
  • Public technical work and strong communication skills across writing, teaching, video, and public speaking.

Nice to have

  • Recognized leadership and active participation in open source forums, chats, meetups, and contributor communities.
  • Experience aligning community initiatives with product objectives and mentoring other advocates.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work with Developer Relations, engineering teams, program managers, and open source communities.
