Senior Software Engineer (React)

Location: New York City, hybrid

Salary: $138,000–$181,000 USD annually, depending on experience, location, business needs, and market demand.

What you will do

• Build and enhance the hirify.global Sportsbook mobile application with a focus on frontend usability and performance.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain scalable software using appropriate engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and peers on product ideas, architecture, design discussions, planning, and delivery.
• Improve software quality, architecture, operational excellence, security, monitoring, and development processes.
• Participate in code reviews, incident resolution, on-call support, recruitment, and technical mentoring.
• Use AI-powered development tools to improve coding efficiency and software quality.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software development experience creating and maintaining mobile applications.
• Professional experience with React and React Native, plus strong JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS skills.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and backend-for-frontend architectural patterns.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, and RDS.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as DataDog or Sentry, CI/CD tooling, unit testing, and software delivery practices.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jenkins or Buildkite, Git, GitLab, and the Atlassian suite.
• Experience prompting AI-powered development tools such as Claude or Cursor.
