Thermography Instructor (Infrared Thermography)

Location: US - Field - Texas, with additional field locations in Colorado and Arizona. The role includes classroom, onsite, and virtual instruction and requires eligibility to work under applicable U.S. export-control requirements.

What you will do

• Deliver approximately 30–35 thermography certification and application courses annually across classroom, onsite, and virtual environments.
• Lead lectures, hands-on demonstrations, practical exercises, quizzes, assessments, and certification exams for adult technical learners.
• Mentor students on certification pathways, thermography applications, troubleshooting, and interpretation of thermographic data.
• Develop and continuously improve course materials, examinations, digital learning resources, and hybrid training programs.
• Integrate real-world case studies, failure analysis, industry standards, and field feedback into training content.
• Represent the Infrared Training Center through customer support, conferences, webinars, technical articles, white papers, and application notes.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied science, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on industrial experience.
• Hands-on experience performing infrared inspections and condition assessments in industrial, manufacturing, utility, or facility environments.
• Practical knowledge of infrared imaging, heat transfer, electrical safety, energized equipment, PPE, safe work boundaries, and risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of predictive-maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, oil analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance.
• Familiarity with ISO 18436-7, ISO 9712, ASNT SNT-TC-1A, and ASNT CP-105 standards and certification frameworks.
• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. export-control license.

Nice to have

• Current Level III certification in infrared thermography.
• Certification or practical experience in vibration analysis, ultrasound, oil analysis, or motor diagnostics.
• Experience with drone-based thermography, sUAS applications, data collection, mission planning, and FAA Part 107 requirements.
• Experience with integrated reliability and condition-based monitoring programs.
• Fluency in a second language.
