TL;DR
IT Engineer (Smart TV): Maintaining physical devices, network infrastructure, multimedia environments, and test benches for Smart TV and connected-device platforms with an accent on hardware troubleshooting, video signal integrity, and application testing. Focus on configuring diverse operating systems and streaming devices, diagnosing issues across hardware, networking, DRM, and applications, and producing reproducible defect reports.

Location: Katowice, Poland. Workplace type: Onsite.

What you will do

  • Set up, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical devices, development boards, workstations, and test benches across Smart TV, connected TV, desktop, and mobile platforms.
  • Configure and troubleshoot LAN, WLAN, VLAN assignments, IP addressing, DHCP settings, static MAC reservations, cabling, HDMI connections, and power.
  • Maintain video pipeline environments and diagnose HDMI handshakes, display resolutions, audio pass-through, HDCP signal chains, and DRM-related issues.
  • Execute manual testing of hirify.global applications on physical target devices and investigate streaming playback and device-specific issues.
  • Reproduce edge cases, isolate whether defects originate from hardware, networking, or applications, and create structured reports in Jira.
  • Maintain accurate hardware inventories and collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve the reliability of the TV Lab.

Requirements

  • Practical experience with Linux, Windows, and iOS operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Smart TV and media streaming platforms, including LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Titan OS, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
  • Knowledge of developer settings, application installation, sideloading, wired and wireless networking, VLANs, DHCP, IP addressing, and MAC reservations.
  • Understanding of HDMI, audio/video concepts, HDCP compliance, signal negotiation, DRM, and video streaming fundamentals.
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, and technical reporting skills.
